This form is to nominate a player to be considered for a tournament team roster position.

CYA Little League will attempt to field  a 8-10, 9‐11, and Majors teams for District 10 Tournament play and two one CYA LL 8‐9 year old Minors team for Special Games tournament play. Representing CYA Little League in tournament play is an honor and requires a significant commitment from the selected player and his/her parents, but it is the culmination of our Fall and Spring seasons where (dedicated) players have the opportunity to match their skills against teams in the district, and with a chance to go further.  For those that have the opportunity to play it is a rewarding experience for player, team, family, and community..  

Practices will be held daily once teams are announced. Once the tournament begins, games may be every day – including weekdays and weekends.   There will be additional fees to cover uniforms (typically around $75 - $100) and travel expenses if teams advance.

There will be additional volunteer requirements of families to prepare fields, administer games, and operate the Snack Shack.  

Please consider summer vacation plans and activities BEFORE committing your player to be considered for a Tournament Team.

Please note: District 10 Tournament Dates are Tentative and have not been locked in.

8‐10 year old Little League Tournament Team is available to league age 8 or 10 year olds playing in either AAA or Majors. Practices for this team will begin in early June with the first game of the District 10 pool play tournament on or around June 18th.  The District 10 Tournament champion will advance to the 8‐10 Virginia State Tournament hosted by LL VA District 2 in Lynchburg, VA starting July 7. Southeast Region Tournament at this level begins July 22.

9‐11 year old Little League Tournament Team is available to 10 and 11 year olds playing either in Majors or AAA. Practices will begin in early June with the first game of the District 10 pool play tournament on or around June 18th. The winners of the District 10 Tournament will advance to the Virginia State Tournament Hosted by LL VA Dist 9 in Springfield, VA, beginning 13^th.  Southeast Region Tournament at this level begins July 29.

Majors Little League Tournament Team is available only to players ages 11 or 12 playing in the Majors division. Practices for this team will begin in early June with the District 10 pool play tournament running June 29^th – July 2^nd.  The District 10 Tournament Champion will advance to the Virginia State Tournament hosted by LL VA District 7 in Poquoson, VA, starting July 14th. The Virginia State Champion will advance to the Southeast Region Tournament in Warner Robins, GA beginning August 2nd. The SE Region Champion advances to the Little League World Series in Williamsport, PA beginning August 17th.

8‐9 Minors Special Games Tournament Team is available only to players age 8 or 9 and playing in either AAA or AA. Practices for this team will begin in early June with the first game of the pool play tournament remaining TBD. This tournament is usually completed no later 1 July. This tournament is only a local tournament of District 10 teams, is not a LL VA District 10 tournament (hence, “special games”), and no further advancement for the winner. This is an introduction to tournament play for our younger players and managers.

CYA Prep/Travel Baseball tryouts will be held on Tuesday 7/19 and Wednesday 7/27 at Chantilly Park (times TBD and will be shared with registrants).

The goal of our prep/travel program is to provide players from CYA LL additional baseball in a more competitive environment at a reasonable cost. It's also a chance for players to build strong friendships through baseball over a number of years as teammates in travel, together in LL tournament play and often as opponents in house. We strive to get as many interested players as we can on teams but this is a competitive process and unfortunately we can't always find a spot for everyone. 

Travel teams practice on Fridays and play on Sundays complimenting our house rec program.

The age bands for Fall 2022 are as follows:

12U (DoB between 9/1/10 and 8/31/11)

11U (DoB between 9/1/11 and 8/31/12)

10U (DoB between 9/1/12 and 8/31/13)

9U (DoB between 9/1/13 and 8/31/14)

All players must live within the CYA LL boundary or have a school attendance form that documents they attend a school full time that is located within the CYA LL boundary.
