ELYB SEASON ADJUSTMENTS DUE TO COVID-19
Many uncertainties continue to surround East Lyme Youth Basketball’s preparations for the 2020-2021 season. With that being said, we are beginning our registration process with the hope that at least some form of our season will run for our Instructional, Recreational, and Travel programs. You will not be assessed our general registration fees until a season start date is announced. As has been the case since March for all of us, we will have to continue to roll with changes as they occur. East Lyme Youth Basketball will provide updates as more information is provided to our organization.
At this time, we do not have access to any of the gyms in East Lyme and Salem. As a result, the beginning dates of our Instructional and Recreational Programs are unknown.
At this time, the Connecticut Basketball Conference, the Travel League in which we have participated for several years, plans to run a travel season out of Sports on 66 in East Hampton. As a result, we will be able to offer our Travel Program to selected boys and girls in grades 5, 6, 7, and 8. Practices will be held on Tuesday or Thursday evenings and games will be played on Saturdays, all at Sports on 66. If your son or daughter is interested in being evaluated for travel participation, please indicate this interest as a part of the registration process.
Try-Out Dates and Location for Travel Basketball Consideration:
Travel tryout dates and locations are posted on the "Travel Team Information" page.
Plans for Instructional & Recreational in the event that there is a delayed start to the season:
If the Instructional and Recreational Programs are unable to run this season or only run a partial season, families will not be charged, have their prorated fees automatically rolled over to next season, or may request a prorated refund.
If the Instructional and Recreational Programs are shortened to the point where we are unable to arrange organized teams and games, East Lyme Youth Basketball will offer Open Gyms with structured drills and gameplay, as allowed, which will be organized by each grade division’s commissioners.
Thank you for your patience and understanding. We look forward to communicating with you all again in the near future.
