Registration for Spring season is open beginning January 4, 2021 for all Bedford residents and Hanscom Airforce Base residents who meet the individual League qualifications. An early-bird rate will be given to all players who register on or before February 14, 2021. Late fees will be assessed beginning March 15, 2021. Please register early so we can plan our season accordingly. Parent volunteers should also register by completing the Volunteer registration below.
Registration for Winter Training is open for individual weekly batting and fielding training sessions, and each session will remain open for new registrations until 2 days before the clinic.
Fees
Individual league fees are noted in the league registration information below. There is a family maximum cap of $400 per family for the season. We also have scholarships available, please contact Paul Schuman, for scholarship information.
Uniforms
Uniforms consisting of a team shirt and hat will be provided for Spring leagues. Players will be required to wear baseball/softball pants, and cleats.
There will be no uniforms for winter training. Players are asked to wear sneakers, baseball/softball pants or sweatpants to the clinics.
Equipment
All players are required to bring their own baseball/softball equipment to include: glove, bat, mask, batting gloves, catcher’s equipment, batting helmet. If you do not own this equipment, please purchase and have available prior to the first practice. If you do not have the means to purchase, please know that we have ample gently-used equipment to offer for season use.
GUIDELINES FOR PLAY - WINTER
Updated guidelines for the 2021 Spring season will be sent closer to the season start date. Please see below for our Winter Training Guidelines.
Please note that while we are extremely excited to get on the turf for some winter practices, we must do so while adhering to all social distancing guidelines from the state and town. If any of these guidelines are not followed, we risk an abrupt end to our training season, and major disappointment for our players. These guidelines are highlighted below, but are subject to change.
Bedford Babe Ruth Notice on Field Usage During COVID
Players must wear masks and stay socially distanced (6 feet) while not on the field of play.
Batters must wear masks, and there are no exceptions.
Spectators from a given household must both wear a mask and stay socially distanced from spectators from other households.
Coaches must wear a face covering and stay socially distanced.
After practices and scrimmages, team meetings should comply with the above.
All players must bring their own hand sanitizer and/or sanitizing wipes to the field.
Waivers
All families will be required to sign a waiver which states that despite all reasonable efforts, we cannot guarantee that you, your child, other family members, etc. cannot be held liable in any way. You freely and knowingly accept the risk of participating in the winter 2021 training season. You will also adhere to the Commonwealth's and Town of Bedford's guidelines for return to play. Without the signed waiver, your child will not be allowed to participate in any activities. This waiver is available on ourwebsiteand copies will be available at the first practice.
Miscellaneous
We ask all parents to check their child’s temperature before practice. If your child has a fever, please keep them home.

Participants would represent the town of Bedford in a league against other towns. Bedford would like to participate in the U10, U12 and U14 levels, but final decisions will be made on registration interest. We will do our best to maximize participation numbers, but may need to hold a tryout depending on interest level. Registration is open to girls who are residents of Bedford and Hanscom AFB.
The season starts in late-April and ends in mid-June.
Games generally Sundays with potential June playoff games during the week.
The cost of participation is $50 per player and the fees will only be collected after the teams have been selected.

T-Ball
Co-ed introduction - in a fun learning environment - to the great sport of Baseball. Focus is on relaxed teaching of the basic rules and skills of the sport. Players hit off a tee. We use a safety ball that is softer than a regular baseball but is about the same weight and size as a regular baseball.
Registration is open to all Bedford and Hanscom AFB residents ages 5 and over by 9/1/20.
The season starts in late-April and ends in early-June.
Normal game days are Monday and Wednesday.
Players arrive between 5:30 pm and 5:45 pm and typically play until about 7:00 pm.

Farm Baseball is a step up from T-Ball where players learn to hit with their own coaches pitching to them. They continue to learn correct fielding and throwing technique as well as learning to hit a pitched ball. This is done in a fun atmosphere with a focus on learning to love the game!
Registration is open to all Bedford and Hanscom AFB residents in 1st and 2nd grades for the 2020-21 school year.
The season starts in late-April and ends in mid-June.
Normal game days are Tuesdays and Thursdays, with one weekend practice.

American and Atlantic Leagues
Baseball players aged 9 (in 4th grade), 10, 11, and 12 (as of 4/30/2021) are eligible to play in the American, Atlantic, and National Leagues. These players will attend a combined tryout in late-March. Teams are formed by a draft following the player tryout. All registered players are placed on a team. Scores and standings are kept with playoffs for each league at the end of the season to determine the league champion.
First, players aged 10, 11, and 12 will be drafted into the American League.
Next, players age 9 (in 4th grade), 10, 11, and 12 will be drafted into the Atlantic League.
Finally, players aged 9 and 10 (in 4th grade) may be drafted into the National League with all of the 3rd grade players.
Registration is open to all Bedford and Hanscom AFB residents who are in grades 4, 5, 6, and 7 for the 2020-21 school year, andages 9, 10, 11, and 12 (as of 4/30/21).

Babe Ruth Baseball is for players who are between the ages of 13 and 16 years-old as of April 30, 2021. Bedford Babe Ruth will have Bedford based teams for Spring play, but the playing options will be dependent on the number of registered players and their ages and level of play. The season will begin the week of April 26,2021. Games and practices will be scheduled to avoid conflicts with participation on Middle School and High School teams.

Players or former players in grades 7 and up are eligible to apply to be umpires for the 2021 season. An email address must be entered for the umpire's registration record.
