2023 Boys Winter Clinic (Grades 5-8)
With the spring season just around the corner RYL is offering opportunities for boys to get out and tune up their lacrosse skills. The clinics will be structured with a mix of drills as well as high energy 6 v 6 game play. The drills will focus on the basics of catching, throwing, ground balls, etc. The game playwill be high energy quick moving games to give the kids an opportunity to be creative without worrying about structure.
Dates: Wednesdays - Jan. 25, Feb. 1, 8, 15, Mar. 1, 8
Time: 7:00 PM – 8:00 PM
Location: Danbury Dome – 25 Shelter Rock Lane, Danbury

The House program is for new and returning players and meets once a week on Sunday mornings. The program’s emphasis is on creating a fun and positive environment to learn the fundamental skills and rules of the game. Practices consist of 60-minute sessions focused on skill development using stations and typically end with scrimmages.
This program is for boys registered and enrolled in Kindergarten in the 2022-23 school year ONLY.
Season: April 23 through June 11 (no session Memorial Day Weekend)
Practices: Sundays, 9:30 - 10:30 am at Scotts Ridge Middle School Turf

There will be several small, evenly balanced teams that will practices together during the week and play games separately. Schedule will be dependent on weather and field conditions.
Season: Approximately March 27 through June 11 (excluding Memorial Day Weekend)
Practices: TENTATIVELY Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6:00 - 7:30 pm
Games: Saturdays/Sundays beginning approx. April 22; small field 7 vs. 7 format

Lacrosse experience is not necessarily required at all levels. There may be a limited number of coaching positions available for each team. RYL reserves the right to select and assign coaches as needed.
RYL will use the Coaches Registration page to help communicate with and assign coaches, and obtain or update USA Lacrosse Membership information.
Please be aware that all RYL coaches must comply with the following requirements before the start of the spring season:
1. Take and pass the CONNY rules test for boys. See CONNY information here: http://www.connylacrosse.org/Page.asp?n=175431&org=CONNYLacrosse.org (see below information on how to register for the test via USAL).
2. Obtain Red Cross first aid/AED certification (details to follow).
3. Participate in RYL Coach Training.
4. Agree to a background check performed by RYL/USA Lacrosse.

RYL will use the Coach Registration page to help communicate with and assign coaches, and obtain or update USA Lacrosse Membership information and insurance.
Please be aware that all RYL coaches must comply with the following requirements before the start of the spring season:
1. Take and pass the CONNY rules test for girls. See CONNY information here: http://www.connylacrosse.org/Page.asp?n=166837&org=CONNYLacrosse.org (see below information on how to register for the test via USAL).
2. Obtain Red Cross first aid/AED certification (details to follow).
3. Participate in RYL Coach Training.
4. Agree to a background check performed by RYL/USA Lacrosse.

Ensure your Membership is active through the season and under “Program Affiliation” that your Program is listed.
