HIPPO - The Fastest Game on 4 Feet! Uhhh . . . Two Feet!


We are back at the Cactus HS indoor gym playing one of our favorite competitive games, Hippo.

What is it?

3v3 games where player must move the ball within 3 seconds or lose posesssion. Its fast, high scring, a lot of fun and develops proper on and of ball movement

Why call it Hippo?

Did you know Hippos can run 30 MPH? Can you run 30 MPH???

skills s Summer Skill Sessions are for all players looking to develop their invididual and team game. You get out what you put in. Come ready to work on your box and field lacrosse skills! 



1 hr competitive 3v3 game. 2 teams split with substitiutions using a "pinkie" rubber ball

2 hr training sessions with rotating stations for individual and team skills 


Tuesday nights at Cactus HS, 6330 W Greenway Rd, Glendale 85306

Sunday mornings at Montara Park, 64th Ave and Becker Ln, Glendale 85304


Tuesdays June 29, July 6, 20, and 27

No games practice July 13

8u/10u/12u:  6-7pm

14u/HS: 7-8pm

Sundays July 11, 18 and 25

Since AZBOXLA was first sanctioned by USBOXLA is 2015, we have introduced the game of competitive box lacrosse, trained, competed, and won gold, silver and bronze medals with just over 350 Arizona lacrosse players.

In 2021 we will attend the Seals Summer Shootout on July 30 - Aug 1and the USBOXLA Nationals on August 6-8.

Divisions are as follows;


  • Novice (Birth year 2011 & 2012)
  • Peewee (2009 & 2010)
  • Bantam (2007 & 2008)
  • Midget (2005 & 2006)
  • Elite (2002 thru 2004)


Practices will be on Saturdays at the Arizona Sports Complex beginning June 5. Additional practices and locations may be announced soon.


Cost: $350 per tournament or $600 for both


  • This is a USBOXLA sanctioned event, USBOXLA membership is required to particitpate
