2022 Boys Spring Grade 1/2 Lacrosse

CCYL runs an In-Town program for boys grades 1/2 that is based on safe skill development in a fun, clinic-style atmosphere; we do not play in a league with games.  Potentially the coaches will be able to organize informal scrimmages against another towns, as well as participate in an end of the season local tournament.

The sessions occur 1 time per week beginning mid-April and ending mid-June:  Friday night at the CCHS upper grass fields, from 6-7:15pm, depending on light.

Full equipment is required to participate.  Equipment includes:  helmet, mouth guard, shoulder pads, arm pads, gloves, athletic supporter and lacrosse stick.

Pinneys will be issued to players that are new to the program. All returning players will wear their pinneys from last Fall/Spring.

All current and new players must have an up-to-date US lacrosse membership.  The registration system will take you to US Lacrosse to update or create a family membership. You cannot complete your CCYL registration without being current with US lacrosse as that is our insurance.  US lacrosse membership fee: $25.

Note: registration closes 01/01/2022.  It will remain open from January 1 - January 14, 2022 with a late fee and NO guarantee that your son will be on the team.   The league needs to know how many teams we will be entering in each age group in order to make the game schedule, along with field space and available qualified coaches.  Please pay attention to these dates so this volunteer group is not put in an awkward situation.

Practices will occur 2 times a week and games will be played on Sundays.  The season begins with an opening jamboree on March 27th and runs through mid-June. Practice nights are Mondays and Wednesdays from 6 - 7:30 (based on light), on the CCHS Upper grass fields.

This is a developmental grade; games are played on a small sided field with 6 players and a goalie at a time.  We will have teams of 10 or 12 and they may change weekly (or not), to make sure they are balanced.  There is not an A and B distinction at this grade.

Game jerseys must be worn to play in the games.  The cost of the jersey is included in the registration fee.  Players may wear their choice of black lacrosse shorts, as shorts are not included in the uniform cost.  Jerseys will be handed out at one of the first practices.
