Overview

The New Hampshire Youth Lacrosse Association (NHYLA) was formed in 1994 and has grown as the vehicle for New Hampshire towns and programs to learn about the game of lacrosse, receive help launching lacrosse programs, and act as the guardian of the youth lacrosse game in New Hampshire. As a chapter of the national governing body, US Lacrosse, we adhere to its recommendations for organization and safety.

Since its inception the NHYLA has promoted and supported boys and girls lacrosse with members increasing in number each year in both areas. We currently have over 37 towns/programs participating in the NHYLA with approximately 310 teams (approximately 35% girls teams and 65% boys teams) from the ages of 7 through 15 years old. 

Mission Statement

The mission of US Lacrosse is to ensure a unified and responsive organization that develops and promotes the sport by providing services to its members and programs to inspire participation, while preserving the integrity of the game. We envision a future which offers people everywhere the opportunity to discover, learn, participate in, enjoy, and ultimately embrace the shared passion of the lacrosse experience. To promote, foster and encourage interest in and an appreciation of the sport of lacrosse throughout the State of New Hampshire; to advance the growth of amateur youth lacrosse within New Hampshire and promote the playing of the game of lacrosse by New Hampshire youth throughout the State; to instruct, coach, train and teach the game of lacrosse and lacrosse fundamentals, skills, techniques and strategies; to establish, organize, support, sponsor and conduct amateur youth lacrosse leagues, games, tournaments, jamborees, camps, instructional clinics and other lacrosse related activities, competitive events and functions; to support participation by New Hampshire youth in youth lacrosse recreational leagues and athletic programs and in other amateur youth lacrosse leagues, tournaments and programs both within and outside of New Hampshire, and nationally; to cooperate with other organizations having similar interests and objectives; to raise and accept donations of funds to support the purposes and objectives of the corporation; and, to otherwise further the charitable purposes and objectives for which this corporation is established, consistent with the lawful purposes of NHRSA 292:1 as amended and in effect from time to time.
