                             PACK MEETING & CAMPFIRE

with Optional pre-meeting Historical Tour, Dinner, & Overnight

OCTOBER 22, 2011 -- SAT. 6:00-7:30PM

EVENT DESCRIPTION:  This annual campfire tradition for the entire family is when the Wolf Pack welcomes new Cubs into the Pack.  During the campfire program there will be scout performances and awards. We’ll close out the meeting roasting marshmallows around the campfire.

Optional Pre-Meeting Activities and Dinner  run from 4:00 to 5:30.  Weston Historical Society members will conduct a free tour of the barn museum (fulfills Tiger requirement 1G and Wolf achievement 4f).  Everyone will have the opportunity to make, cook & eat their own foil dinner (ground beef and veggies). Don’t forget the banana boat dessert either!  (This is the last chance for Webelos needing their Outdoorsman pin to do this cooking and to help with the “Leave No Trace” campfire construction.)  These pre-meeting activities are fun for the entire family and great for those who don’t want to “go all the way” and commit to camping out overnight in late October in CT!

Optional Campout  We also offer this event as an optional campout. Some cub scouts are new to outdoor camping, and this is a fun option for those who want the experience in a rather “tame” environment. Don’t forget—cub scout camping is “family camping” and cub scouts may only share a tent with their guardian.
(Again, last opportunity for Webelos Outdoorsman pin candidates to pitch a tent!)

Cubs should wear Class A Uniforms for a special Pack 75 photo.
Scouts can change after the photo.
