Spring 2017 Code Lacrosse Season Information:

PLAYER REGISTRATION opens Wednesday, December 7, 2016 at 9:00am

(and closes on December 30, 2016 or once we reach team capacity)

**** Renew NOW  -  In order to save time and avoid problems on the day of registration, it is highly suggested that you renew your US Lacrosse membership BEFORE December 7th.  You can not register for the spring season until your US Lacrosse membership is valid and will not expire before the end of the spring season (May, 2017).  If you wait until you register, you will be rerouted to the US Lacrosse website, and there is a high likelihood that your registration will be delayed.  The US Lacrosse website tends to shut down when too many people log on at the same time. We expect some of our teams to fill up within a few hours of opening registration so please do not delay on the US Lacrosse membership requirement.  You can renew your membership now by clicking here:  Renew Membership

Code Lacrosse will be offering the following teams for Spring 2017:

NEW THIS YEAR - Grade Level teams!!!  Age is no longer a factor for team placement.  You will be placed on a team according to what grade you are currently enrolled in.

o 3rd/4th grade

o 5th/6th grade

o 7th/8th grade

o Middle School Select

Please find below a more detailed explanation of each team offering:

This program will be offered to boys in 1st through 8th grade.   The Rec program will focus primarily on the fundamentals of the game, skill development, and proper lacrosse techniques.  It is specifically designed for new players, players with few years experience, or players that are looking to improve their stick skills as well as learn and try all positions.

Some changes have been made to align with other central Virginia lacrosse clubs and new guidelines from US Lacrosse.  For example, we will now use grade level teams, and this year our 1st/2nd & 3rd/4th grade teams will play with fewer players on a shorter field.

Coaches Needed! If you have experience playing lacrosse, we need you!  Please email   .  We need a few more coaches to be able to offer the number of teams we anticipate having this year.  Without a few more coaches, we will not be able to accommodate all of our boys who want to play lacrosse!

This year Code Lacrosse will be offering one Select team.  It will be a Middle School Select team to compete against other local middle school teams in the Richmond area (both public and private schools).   The team will be geared toward the more serious lacrosse players who are ready for a more competitive, higher level of play.  While the team will still focus on fundamental skills, we will also introduce advanced skills and concepts while focusing on taking each athlete to the next level in an atmosphere that is fun, exciting, and competitive.  Instruction will be position specific and a strong emphasis will be on team play.

The Middle School Select Team will be try-out based and it will be for middle school boys only (grades 6-8).   Age will NOT be a factor for this team, however all players wishing to tryout must meet the following criteria:

1.    Must be in 6th, 7th, or 8th grade

2.    Must NOT be playing on a high school JV team (this applies to 8th graders only - see below).

8th graders:

- Tryouts for the MS Select team will take place AFTER high school tryouts, so you will know if you make your HS team or not

- If an 8th grader does not make the JV team, he is eligible to tryout for this MS Select team and may proceed to tryouts as planned.

- If an 8th grader does make the JV team, he will no longer be eligible to tryout for this Middle School Select team.  Please email me as soon as you find out and your registration fee will be refunded.

3.    Must register on the Code website starting December 7th and pay the registration fee of $215.  Space is limited to tryout and it will be first come first serve.  This is not an unlimited tryout.  Once we reach capacity for the number of players allowed to tryout, we will roll over to a waitlist.  If you are interested in trying out, you must get registered before the limit is reached!!!  Please note:  Any player not chosen for the MS Select team will automatically be placed on one of the Rec teams  (by grade level) with no additional charge.
