HELPING OUR TEAM

Lee Franconia Football League, a 501(c)(3) organization, has been operated entirely by volunteers for over fifty years.

Parents are required to volunteer with the club, and also to help with fund raising. Without the help of parents, we would not be able to host games or meet the year-round expenses of a sports program for several hundred youngsters.

Every team has a rotation for providing drinks and snacks at games. In addition, at home games, Lee Franconia parents must help to set up and clean up the field, work the chains, and help in the concession stand. Each team needs a team parent who stays in touch with the coach, communicates with families about schedules, and organizes post-game snacks and a party at season’s end. Each team needs qualified assistant coaches.

Parents who cannot volunteer or help with fund raising are required to pay opt-out fees. The fee may be paid at the time of registration. Sometimes a family will decide in mid season that they cannot or will not help with volunteering or fund raising. In these situations, the family pays the opt-out fee in the middle of the season.

Volunteers are also invited to serve on the Lee Franconia board. To learn more, attend one of our monthly open board meetings, or speak with a board member. Board meetings usually take place on the third Thursday of each month throughout the off-season (November through July), in the Hilltop Room of Lee District RECenter. Click "Calendar" for information about the next meeting, and watch your email for meeting announcements.
