The Mission of the Grand Rapids Area Soccer Club is to promote, foster, and perpetuate the love of the game of soccer at the youth level, by developing the soccer skills, understanding, and sportmanship of each athlete.

The Grand Rapids Area Soccer Club (formerly Northwoods Youth Soccer Association) was established in 1992 and serves children from grade school though high school in the Grand Rapids, Cohasset and surrounding areas. We provide development, recreational and competitive programs suitable for all levels of players.

GRASC is run by a Board of Directors which meets the second Tuesday of every month during the school year at 6:00 pm in the RJE Middle School Conference Room. This meeting is open to all interested parents and players.

Here is a brief explanation of our youth soccer philosophy.

GRASC offers a training academy and "house" league (Future Stars Program) for players age 8-12. Teams will be organized for small sided games which are strongly endorsed by MYSA and the U.S. Soccer Federation. Travel outside of the Grand Rapids area will not be necessary with the development of a house league. Players will play with age appropriate sized soccer balls, fields and goals. The small sided philosophy allows each player to have more fun, more contact with the ball, be more involved in each game and develop greater soccer skills at an early age. It is also hoped that parents without a soccer background will be more interested in coaching when the team sizes are smaller and more manageable.

GRASC endorses the "US Youth Soccer Player Development Model"
