What seasons are offered at North Wake Baseball?
For our REC League, NWCBA has a spring season and a shorter, instructional, fall season. Off season runs July/August in the summer and November-January in the winter months.
For our TRAVEL League, the season is year-round, divided into 2 seasons:
Fall and Spring, beginning August 1 and ending July 31.
What is the league age for the REC League and TRAVEL League?
**The league age is determined by the player's age as of April 30th.
Where do events take place?
All REC events: practices and games, take place at The Factory Baseball Complex in Wake Forest, located at 1845 Grandmark Street. All Travel teams practice at The Factory Fields as well.
What are the general dates for the spring season?
Registration for the spring season for ages 5-15 opens on December 1st and continues into February. Late registration begins late January/early February. Registration ends early February.

Registration for the fall season for ages 4-15 opens June 1st, ending late July.

How much of a time commitment is the REC League?
Each team in our Rookie, Minor, Major & Junior Leagues are given 12 practices and 12 games. Practices are slotted for 2 hours with 2-3 events per week during our 5-7pm or 7-9pm time slots (M-F) or anytime from 9am-5pm on Saturdays.
Sunday events are not scheduled unless a coach requests an additional practice.
Games times are: 5:30pm or 7pm during the week or 9am through 4pm on Saturdays
** TBALL: Practices are slotted for 2 hours (coaches typically practice 1 hour or so. and games are typically 1.5 hours. with 2-3 events per week during our 5-7pm time slot (M-F) or anytime from 9am-5pm on Saturdays.
Where are practices and games held?
ALL REC practices and games are held at The Factory Baseball Complex.
Travel Teams participate in various tournaments throughout the state and some teams elect to play some out of state at the team’s discretion.
What equipment does a player need?
Players will need a bat, glove, cleats, and batting helmet. The league provides each player with a jersey and hat. Players are responsible for providing their own socks, belt and baseball pants in colors the coach chooses.
All players must wear a hard, protective cup for their safety. No soft cups are permitted.
Footwear – rubber cleats only in all leagues, except Junior League, where metal cleats are permissible. No metal cleats shall be worn on portable pitching mounds.
Most players have their own batting helmet, bat, and bat bag, but these are not required. All teams are given a set of equipment for use during the season. T-Ball, Rookie, Minor, Major, and Junior league players must use USA stamped bats. Junior may also use BBCOR stamped bats.
How are players assigned to a team?
NW uses tryouts/skills evaluations to determine the experience and ability of each player and rated accordingly, based on the following: batting, running, fielding, throwing and catching. All players must tryout to be considered for placement on a team. Players are then placed on teams through a draft selection conducted by the league commissioner and head coaches. Players are ranked based on overall ability.
Tball players are not required to tryout.
In our Rookie league, only 7’s tryout in the fall and only 8’s trout in the spring.
How much is registration per season?
FALL & SPRING SEASON Registration Fees
**The registration fee includes: team jersey, hat, individual trophy and a $50 raffle fee.
A $25 late fee is added if registration is made during our late registration period.
Does NWCBA offer refunds?
Refunds may be requested prior to a player attending a scheduled practice. NW will charge a $25 refund processing fee.
Does North Wake offer softball?
