Baseball Ages
This Division is designed for players who are 11-12 years old but some 10 yr olds may be considered.

• All 12 year olds must attend Majors evaluations and will be placed in Majors.
• All 11 year olds must attend either AAA or Majors evaluations. Players not selected for Majors will be placed in AAA.
• All 10 yr olds must attend either AAA or Majors evaluations. Players not selected for Majors will be placed in AAA.

Use the baseball age chart to determine a player's age.  The chart can be found on our documents tab.  
 
Schedule
Majors games will be on Monday, Wednesday and Saturday evenings.  Practices and batting cages are each scheduled for Sunday and 1 weeknight.  Schedules are published once the teams are created. All schedules subject to change.
 
Goal
The goal of the Majors division in Simsbury Little League is for the players to apply those fundamentals learned at the lower levels into more advanced game situations.  Players continue to fine tune the stages of strategy (i.e. bunting and stealing) while continuing to learn the skills specific to each position. In the Majors division, managers begin to place players in those positions that allow them the best opportunity to grow and succeed.  The Majors season concludes with a playoff tournament.
 
Draft
This is the second level of baseball with a draft. Players are chosen by the managers in a player draft.  All 10 and 11 year olds not chosen in the draft will automatically play AAA.
 

Umpires
These games are umpired by trained youth or adult umpires.

Volunteers Needed
If you are interested in becoming a Manager, Assistant Coach, or Parent Administrator for your child’s team, please indicate your desire to do so when you register online.  All volunteers are required to fill out a volunteer application which is located on the “volunteer” tab on the SLL website.
