What are the requirements to play?  Any healthy student is welcome, and a 2.0 GPA with no missing assignments is expected to be maintained.  Speed and agility are more important than size.  One of the beauties of lacrosse in the West is that not many youth/parents have experience with the game, so it’s “fair game” for all potential athletes, especially at the younger ages.

Boys need a stick, white helmet and cleats, and need to wear shoulder pads, elbow pads, lacrosse gloves, a mouthpiece and athletic cup.  Girls need a stick, cleats and goggles.  Uniforms are included in the cost of registration. 
The average cost for a full set of gear is about $200 - $400.  Many of our players shop at Lacrosse Fanatic in Sacramento, but gear is also available at other sports stores and online.

How much does it cost to register?  The registration fee is $375 for 12U through Varsity ages and $250 for 10U.  The fee includes the uniform and 1 ticket to the fundraising dinner.  Players must become US Lacrosse members before registering.  Youth memberships are $30/yr and high school age memberships are $35/yr.  Click here for more information on US Lacrosse membership.

Where are the practices and games held?  10U and 12U generally practice at Cosumnes River Elementary School or in/near Rancho Murieta.  14U, JV, Varsity and Lady Eagles primarily practice at Rancho Murieta although they are also known to occasionally practice in other areas of Elk Grove/Sacramento, depending on the coach and field availability.  Most games are played within a couple hour's drive, although there may be an occasional overnight trip.

Can I play for PGLC if I don't live in the Pleasant Grove High School boundaries?  If you live outside the PGHS boundaries and don't have a place to play lacrosse, we want to talk to you.  Please contact our Board President, Paul Frank at for more information.

How can I get involved in the PGLC?  The Pleasant Grove Lacrosse Club currently has an active Board that manages all the details necessary to run a youth sports program, from registering players, securing fields, ordering uniforms, disseminating information, creating schedules, organizing volunteers and managing budgets.  Each person takes on a task or two (or three…), all working together to create a solid program for the youth within the Pleasant Grove High School boundaries.  If interested in securing a Board position, or just in helping out, please contact our Board President, Rob Brown, at

How can I become a Coach?  We welcome new coaches, no lacrosse experience required.  What is required is adults that enjoy working with student athletes, developing a good rapport, providing a positive experience, and focusing on the character and integrity of both the game and the players.  Coaches must be members of U.S. Lacrosse (which costs $55), complete a background check, become PCA (Positive Coaching Alliance)-certified, take the U.S. Lacrosse Level 1 Coaching course and sign a Coaches Code of Conduct form.  New this year is also passing the Age Level Rules Test prior to coaching.  If interested in exploring coaching opportunities, please contact our Board President, Paul Frank, at  for more specific information.
