AAA league is small but it reflects movement to the minors. Girls t-ball is also small.
Softball
In Majors the managers are meeting Sunday for the draft. Rookie and Minors manager meeting tonight.
Baseball (Chris)
The Majors teams practiced 3 weeks in indoor facility. There is damage to the Assist Field, teams should wait for the okay to practice there. Practices are at Conover and it is working well.
Minors have 8 teams. The draft went well.
In AAA the tryout/workout was Saturday and went well. 40 of the 60 eight year olds tried out. There will be 6 teams.
In Rookie AA there are 50 kids. They will make 5 teams of 10.
In T-ball the managers are meeting April 3. There will be 3 coaches per team. At this time there are no managers for the two girls teams.
50/70 League is new this year and we are introducing it to 12 year olds. We are reaching out to Bethea to possibly pay him to coach the team. The registration fee is approximately $75/$80 which includes a shirt, pants and hat. They will play on Sunday and have one practice per week. There are 12 kids registered.
Player Agent ( Jacqui)
There is a new volunteer form. All managers, coaches, and board members must complete. Jacqui will notify anyone who needs a background check. She will forward a link and any emails should be sent directly to Jacqui.
Big Brothers/Big Sisters(Larry)
There are 26 kids registered for the Big Brother/Big Sister Program. They will be getting their assignments shortly.
Umpires
On Sunday having an on field clinic. Check with Mike Curran if you need additional information. There is some talk of having a Coaches meeting with the District 12 Umpires regarding interacting with the kid umpires. In AAA, each team will have to send out a volunteer to be the third umpire on the field and to facilitate between the two kid umpires. This is a requirement from Williamsport.
Safety
We will forward the safety manual to Bill Kramer for him to post online.
Indoor Facility
Ted Phelan suggested that the facility be used to the fullest. Ted offered to conduct 2 clinics for indoor use and 2 clinics for Rookies coaches regarding the best way to use the facility.
Concessions
The concessions are good to go.
Website
The safety manual will be posted by Barry Mathes. If there are any rule changes please forward to
for Bill Kramer to post. If there are no changes, we’ll just change the date.
