Spring/Fall Game Parameters

Set the example for sportsmanship on the field.  Hostility toward or by ANYONE involved with the league will not be tolerated.  This includes players, coaches, referees, parents, and league officials.  We are all here for the kids.  Please set the tone for a positive experience for all.  A winning season is defined by how much the kids smile, not by a win-loss record. HAVE FUN!!

**    No goalie in the 5-U division.  Please don’t use a defender to just guard the goal.  Let them all score!!  For 7-U through 11-U, goalies are used, and are included in the number of players on the field listed.

7U, 9U and 11U - Preventing a “BLOW OUT”

EYSA makes every effort to assign balanced teams.  The reality is that certain teams will dominate another team from time to time. Coaches should be aware of these situations while they are happening and make lineup adjustments to avoid major "blow outs". Below are some adjustments that can be made to minimize scores becoming 12-0, 15-0, 20-0. When you sense a blow out in the making do your best to make an effort to minimize the damage. Blow Outs are not inline with our mission of providing a positive experience.

1. Place your top scorer(s) in goal or defense. No player should have multiple Hat Tricks.

2. After your top player(s) get a Hat Trick they should be encouraged to only assist other teamates and no longer score themselves.

4. Extend playing time for the lessor skilled players on your team. If the game starts to tighten back up, you can always put your top kids back on offense.

5. Make these adjustments when it is 4/5-0 not when it is 8-0. 11-0 does not benefit either team.
