GLADIATOR Lacrosse was formed to foster the advanced development of our players by teaching the values of responsibility, respect, hard work, integrity, sportsmanship, and teamwork. Our core values are what make us who we are, both on and off the field.
Responsibility: Each player is responsible to be a scholar-athlete. They are a scholar first, athlete second. Success in the classroom will lead to success in life, including sports. Players must be accountable for their actions on and off the field as they grow into mature and responsible young adults. As athletes, they are responsible to work extra hard to improve their individual and team game.
Respect: As athletes, we respect all opponents and fear none. We respect our teammates, parents, coaches and officials at all times. We respect ourselves by refraining from damaging or negative behavior or actions.
Hard work: Someone once said, “If it were easy, everyone would do it”. Playing lacrosse at a competitive level takes hard work. Each player must come to practice ready to give 100% and also put in practice time on their own to improve their skills.
Integrity: A man does the right thing, at the right time, for the right reasons – no matter what the result. We will not compromise our moral code or ethics to achieve something dishonorably. It is better to lose with honor than to win through deceit or dishonesty.
Sportsmanship: Always remember that lacrosse is a game and true sportsmen honor the game.
Teamwork: The individual talent of each player is brought together as a whole to create the team. Each player must be able to lose himself in the team for the good of the team. Individual statistics are not important, but individual effort for the greater good of the team is.
Lacrosse is a great game and the focus of our program. However, we recognize the importance of being a multi-sport athlete. As such, during the off season we encourage our players to pursue other athletic interest while “keeping the sticks in their hands”. Our program will include lacrosse related activities year round with the primary focus and commitment during the spring and summer months .
