The Major 50/70 League is the highest level of competition in our Cal Ripken baseball program. 50/70 refers to a 50 feet pitching distance and 70 feet baselines. Standard fields for this age group are typically 46 feet pitching distance and 65 feet baselines. The extended lengths help players transition from the traditional 46/65 youth field to the 60/90 major league field beginning at age 13.
Players are selected via a draft. Games are played against teams within the league as well as inter-league games. 50/70 games are played on Wednesdays and Saturdays. Trophies are awarded for the top regular season team. Playoffs follow the regular season and the top two teams receive trophies for making it to the Majors 50/70 League Tournament Championship Game.
