A: Field closings will be noted in the scrolling marquee on the home page of the Hartwell website. Please check the Hartwell website before heading to any games/practices/training sessions if in doubt. While the safety of our players is our main concern unless the fields are deemed unplayable or lightning/thunder is in the area, all practices and games should be played. Games and practices should be held unless the fields are closed.

Q7: A group of people who are not GHSC members are playing on our soccer field. What do I do?
A: Asking to see a permit is the right thing to do. Coaches should explain they are with the Glastonbury Hartwell Soccer Club and have been assigned the fields by Parks and Recreation. They should tell the group that the Police, if called will expect them to show a permit as permission to use the field. Hopefully this is enough to get them to leave.
If a Coach has to call the Police, be sure they explain they are with GHSC and are scheduled with Parks & Recreation to use the field at that time. They should let the Police know they have tried to talk with the group who has not showed a permit and won't leave.
Q8. I am interested in becoming a referee with Hartwell. What do I do?
A. Hartwell needs referees for both our travel and recreational soccer programs.
To become a referee, you need to be 13 by June 30 and successfully complete an on-line training course, field session and final exam, administered by the CT Junior Soccer Association. You must re-certify each year. Information is available at http://www.ctreferee.net/. Once you are certified, the Glastonbury travel ref coordinator will make you available to referee travel games. Please contact glastonbury-rec.ref@cox.net to referee recreational games.
