Girls from the ages of 5 - *14 can participate in a competitive Fall league against other players from other territories. The Warriors are one of eight members of the Arapahoe Youth League (AYL) and serve the youth in Northern Douglas County (for a description of the Warriors territory, please select the "Our Territory" link). *Per CHSSA rules, girls entering high school (9th grade) in the Fall of 2014 will need to get a permission form signed from the AD or Principal of the school they are about to attend to protect future eligibility to play a high school sport.
RULES OF PLAY:
Player's age as of December 31, 2013 determines which division your child can play.
In AYL there are two divisions (AA and COMP). The AA level is designed for intermediate competitive play and those teams will be afforded 10 regular season games and a double elimination tournament at the end of the season. All teams are subjected to a "minimum play" requirement meaning that all players shall play in the field for a minimum of six (6) defensive outs in every game attended. Each team is required to bat all players present and bat in the same batting order that is established at the start of each new game. Appropriate protective gear (batting helmet with cage) is required for all batters.
The COMP level is designed for highly competitive teams (most are tryout based teams) and those teams will be afforded 10-12 games. The COMP league is only offered @ age 10U, 12U and 14U and is based on total interest.
