Q. I am interested in becoming a referee with Hartwell.  What do I do? 
 
A.  Hartwell needs referees for both our travel and recreational soccer programs.

To officiate a RECREATION or TRAVEL game with Hartwell, you must:

• be at least 13 years old, and
• successfully complete the new referee grassroots training course, or otherwise be a certified soccer referee in good standing.
• Referee certifications must renewed every year.

The New RefereeTraining Process is a combination of an On-LineTraining Course to be completed at your own pace and attendance of an in-person session of 3 hours.

Q. What are the recreation referees paid for a game? 
 
A.  The current payment schedule for REC referees is (updated Fall 2022):

• 3rd & 4th Grade:  $20 Center / $15 AR (7v7 field)
• 5th & 6th Grade:  $25 Center / $20 AR (9v9 field)
• 7th & 8th Grade:  $35 Center / $25 AR (11v11 field)

Q. What are the travel/certified referees paid for a game? 
 
A.  The current payment schedule for TRAVEL referees is (updated Fall 2022):

U9-U10 Ref Fees : $30 Center / $20 AR

U11-U12 Ref Fees : $40 Center / $25 AR

U13-U15 Ref Fees : $50 Center / $30 AR

U16-U18 Ref Fees : $60 Center / $35 AR

U19 Ref Fees : $70 Center / $40 AR

U11-U12 Ref Fees CT Cup: $60 Center / $40 AR

U13-U14 Ref Fees CT Cup: $80 Center / $50 AR

U15  Ref Fees CT Cup: $90 Center / $55 AR
