Clarification on HS Elite/Premier vs SWD Travel Soccer

Please note ALL high school players are eligible to tryout for Elite/Premier. 

Tryouts will be held on Sun, Mar 4th @ 11am in BMS gym. 

Players who do not make Elite/Premier will be offered a spot on the SWD Travel roster (min of 18 players needed).

GIRLS

Girls SWD Westport Travel U16 – U19

• Birth Yrs 1999-2003

·       One practice  (Tuesdays) and one game per week (Sundays)

·       (8) Sunday games, 4/08/18 – 6/10/18

·       No tournament

·       MKSE run and competes in Southwest District (SWD)

·       # of teams and age group placement (U18 or U16) will depend on # of players registered

·       Registration closes March 15

·       Cost $515 (plus uniforms purchased at Athletic Shoe Factory)

BOYS   (Two Different Options Below)*        *ALL high school players are eligible to tryout

1.     Westport Boys Elite/Premier Team U18:

Birth years 2000 - 2003

Tryouts confirmed on  Sun, Mar 4th @ 11am - 12:45pm in Bedford Middle School gym

·       Coached by Kevin Fitzsimmons (Weston HS Boys Head Coach)

·       Two practices (Tuesday and Thursday)and one game per week

·       # of games to be confirmed, most likely on Sundays, also to be confirmed.

·       Two tournaments:

1.     City (College) Showcase in NY, Fri, 3/30 & Sat, 3/31

2.     Needham Memorial Day Showcase in MA, Fri, 5/25 – Mon, 5/28

·       CJSA Elite Division (if accepted) or Premier Division

·       Registration closes February 10^th (tryouts TBD)

·       Cost:  $705 (plus uniforms purchased at Athletic Shoe Factory)

2.   Boys SWD Westport Travel Team(s) U16 - U19:

• Birth Yrs 1999 - 2003

·       One practice (Tuesday or Thursday depending on teams) and one game per week

·       (8) Sunday games, 4/08/18 – 6/10/18

·       No tournament

·       MKSE run and competes in Southwest District (SWD)

·       # of teams and age group placement (U18 or U16) will depend on # of players registered

·       Registration closes March 15

In order to participate, a player must register by the deadline and be fully paid prior to the first practice.  

If the team chooses to enter the State Cup, the fee will be paid by the WSA.  Additional tournaments will be determined and managed by the team, with costs being a pass through consisting of the tournament and all coach associated fees.

Those interested are encouraged to register as early as possible.  This will help us gauge interest and the number of teams/coaches necessary.
