Frequently Asked Questions
What is the mission of V3 Lacrosse?
The founders of V3 believe that Hampton Roads area can be a recognized force in the lacrosse community. We believe that there is a growing need for more educational programs to introduce new players to this rapidly growing sport and to provide a platform for advanced players to continue their growth competing at the highest levels. V3 was founded in 2009 out of passion for the sport and a desire to provide this growth path to our lacrosse community.
V3 stands for three “Virtues”; Character, Sportsmanship and Athleticism.
We strive to incorporate all three elements in each activity we undertake. We require community service hours from our Select team players and reach out to the community to find ways that we can help our players learn how to be better citizens and strong ambassadors for our sport.
Are V3 programs like fall lacrosse limited to V3 Select Travel Players?
Absolutely not! Most V3 Rush Lacrosse programs, including fall lacrosse, indoor and outdoor educational clinics, summer camps, tournaments and winter conditioning are open to all players in the region regardless of the team they play for in spring recreational or summer travel. We love lacrosse and we want to see it grow.
Will V3 programs conflict with Southside Lacrosse League / V3 Rush Spring season?
V3 encourages maximum participation in the Southside Lacrosse League and V3 Rush spring and fall recreational league season and develops schedules accordingly. Occasionally, Spring Select travel players might have to take a bye weekend for an out of town tournament, but that is not the norm. We encourage our players to participate in the Southside League and in the VA South Tidewater HS League and most of our coaches participate as well. Our intention is to continue to supplement and complement what is already well established while adding a level of play above recreational league and exposure to great teams from other areas.
Where do V3 leagues practice and play?
