Bridgewater Baseball & Softball (BBSI) offers a wide variety of programs and is proud to host youth baseball programs focused on living a healthy life while building spirit, mind and body. Bridgewater Township and local area residents are welcome to register and parents are invited to join in the fun as well through volunteering.
The BBSI league is for boys and girls age 4 through 18. The program ranges from instructional, non-competitive league for boys and girls teaching baseball rules and skills to competitive league with standings maintained and end-of-season playoffs. The program's main focus is the spring season for recreation play, but we offer summer and fall recreation play as well. Bridgewater Township and local area residents are eligible to play on recreation teams.
The BBSI Tournament league is a competitive program for boys and girls in grades 1 through 12. The program's main focus is the summer season for tournament and league play, but league-play and clinics are optional additional programs in the fall, winter and spring for player development. Bridgewater Township and local area residents are eligible to try out for tournament teams.
The Bridgewater Baseball Buddy Ball League is for our challenged or special need athletes who are in grades Kindergarten through 6th grade. This is an instructional, non-competitive league for boys and girls. Coaches concentrate on teaching basic baseball rules and skills. A soft core baseball is used for safety.
The BBSI league plays games on a host of fields throughout Bridgewater Township. Our main complex is the Bridgewater Department of Parks and Recreation Prince Rodgers Baseball Complex located at 1400 Prince Rodgers Blvd in Bridgewater. The Prince Rodgers (PR) complex features five well maintained fields with field lights, electronic scoreboards, shaded dug outs, pitching and batting cages, and a full service concessions stand and restrooms located on the bottom floor of the field house building. PR field #1 is a 60/90 baseball field, PR #2, 3, 4 & 5 are 46/60 & 50/70 fields. The North Bridge (NB) complex which is located next to the Prince Rodgers Complex is home to our softball program. The NB complex has three softball fields with pitching and batting cages. NB fields #1 & 2 are lighted fields. The Chimney Rock complex located on Chimney Rock Road in the Martinsville section of Bridgewater has four baseball fields that are 46/60.
BBSI hosts a Memorial Day and Summer Blast Tournaments, attracting both A and B level teams from many of the surrounding towns. Our annual Memorial Day tournament hosts over 100 teams. Babe Ruth Baseball, Babe Ruth Softball, Cal Ripken Baseball and Bambino Buddy-Ball are activities for the youth of America and foreign countries, and were created and exist for the paramount purpose of developing athletic skill, respect for others and sportsmanship in young people. Our mission is to promote a positive and fun environment, and quality instruction, to every child who participates in baseball and softball. Our aim is to develop each and every player to their full potential and provide the best possible baseball or softball experience.
BBSI is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization and has been a charter member of Cal Ripken/Babe Ruth Baseball League since 1992 and is a member of the Middle Atlantic Region (M.A.R.) Babe Ruth League, Northern New Jersey, District 10. Cal Ripken/Babe Ruth League is also the fastest growing youth sports organization in North America. The Cal Ripken/Babe Ruth League serves over 1 million players from ages 4-18 in Cal Ripken Baseball, Babe Ruth Baseball, Babe Ruth Softball and Babe Ruth Buddy Ball.
