SCSA Coaches Corner
Below you will find links to the best curriculum, articles and lesson plans that we have come across. In addition to the online resource library we have a number of books and magazines in the small clubhouse office. If you have anything you would like to add to this section please let us know.
The U.S. Soccer Curriculum provides a great outline on the areas of focus for each specific age group. It is easy to read and gives you lesson plan ideas on how to target those areas. The curriculum can be found at - CLICK HERE FOR US SOCCER COACHING CURRICULUM

We have a number of Success in Soccer magazines in our small clubhouse area which seems to be the most popular coaching resource. They have an extensive online resource center on their website (www.successinsoccer.com). Just go to their website, click Log-In, username is mattwilhoit, password is 54827 and you will be taken to their archive of articles, lesson plans and coaching forms.

We are pleased to announce our new coach mentoring program for our U11-U18 coaches. This program will allow the directors to act as a resource and provide guidance on a more consistent level. Details of the program are listed below.
DOC or Assistant DOC will attend five training sessions per year. Two sessions will be led by the DOC or Assistant DOC. The other three sessions will be led by the coach. Our goal is to observe one session per season (Fall, Winter, Spring) and lead one session in the Fall and Spring.
The DOC or Assistant DOC will also attend at least one game per season (Fall, Spring) to evaluate the in-game coaching and provide feedback to the coach based on their observations after discussing the coaches thoughts on the game and what they plan to do at training following the game.
DOC will discuss training needs with the staff on a monthly basis. This will be done in person, by email and during coaching staff meetings.
We will continue to monitor and encourage the continuing education of the entire coaching staff. This will be done at the club level by providing the staff with a yearly budget for continuing coaching education. This will be done at the staff level by hosting courses at our club and providing our coaches with information on upcoming courses.
