General Information

Participation in our Fall League provides players and families with a preview of the Spring and Summer Seasons to follow.  Players in the Fall League are encouraged to “play up” which provides valuable skills and insight when making decisions for your child during the upcoming Spring 2024 Season.

4 divisions of play are offered based on your player’s age. See below for all the details!

Fall Instructional League Description

Ages 5-7 (based on 2024 LL Age - age your child will be on 8-31-2024)

This division of play builds on the fundamentals that players received in tee ball and single A in the spring.  It is also a great age group for our new players to begin participating. 

Players will continue to develop in baseball, social and leadership skills. The objectives of this division are to teach the game of baseball, and to prepare the players for the next level.

Players will learn hitting, fielding, base-running, sportsmanship, and the rules of the game.

Important notes:

• No game scores are kept.
• There are no season standings, nor participation in a postseason tournament.
• No player evaluations.  Teams are formed by the League.
• Batters receive up to 6 pitches, thrown by their coach, before the ball is placed on a batting tee.
• Games are typically three innings or one hour
• Six players bat per inning.
• Game is played with a Flex-5 Compression Ball
• Fall game times are typically 3:00 on Sundays

Fall Double A Description

Ages 6-8 (based on 2024 LL Age - age your child will be on 8-31-2024)

Important things to know:

• Games will be played against SLL Fall Double A Teams (both divisions)
• With some exceptions, traditional baseball game rules apply
• Game scores are kept. Standings are NOT are kept.
• Game play consists of a maximum of 6 innings, if time permits.
• A maximum of 5 runs can be scored per inning, for the first 5 innings.
• Game is played with a Flex-5 Compression Ball
• Fall game times are typically on Saturday and / or Sunday with periodic weekday games (subject to final schedule as coordinated with other Stamford Little Leagues)

Fall Minors League Description

Ages 8-10 (based on 2024 LL Age - age your child will be on 8-31-2024)

This division of play builds on the fundamentals that players received in their prior division of play.  Players will continue to develop in baseball, social and leadership skills. Once players reach the Minors division, they will likely understand the fundamentals of baseball, and will receive further instruction and development in the next-tier elements of the game.  In this division, players will begin to pitch, field the catcher position, and steal bases.

Important things to know:

• Games will be played against SLL Fall Minors Teams (both divisions)
• With some exceptions, traditional baseball game rules apply
• Game scores and standings are kept.
• Game play consists of a maximum of 6 innings, if time permits.
• A maximum of 5 runs can be scored per inning, for the first 5 innings.
• Fall game times are typically on Saturday and / or Sunday with periodic weekday games (subject to final schedule as coordinated with other Stamford Little Leagues)

Fall Majors League Description

Ages 10-12 (based on 2024 LL Age - age your child will be on 8-31-2024)

The oldest of our spring players participate in the Majors division.  At this stage, Little League baseball very closely

mirrors "real" baseball.  Players will receive coaching and assistance on the advanced elements of the game.  Following their years in Majors, players will look to enter the triple A and majors divisions of play.

• Games will be played against SLL Fall Majors Teams (both divisions). With a few exceptions, traditional baseball game rules apply
• Game scores and season standings are kept.
• Fall game times are typically on Saturday and / or Sunday with periodic weekday games (subject to final schedule as coordinated between Stamford Little League divisions)
