PAL Recreation Softball

Eligibility

The Recreation program is open to all girls in Berkeley Heights in grades 1-5, regardless of experience.

Schedule

The season will run from mid-April to late May. All games will played on weeknights (1-2 per week) with an additional practice. Practices will be reserved by coaches based on field availability.

Equipment

Individual player equipment is purchased separately as needed. Uniform shirts are provided by the PAL.

The following equipment is required:

Softball bat
Softball glove
Batting helmet
Softball pants
Cleats

League

Play is in the Mountainside Rec League with teams from Mountainside, New Providence, and Springfield.

Registration

Registration on the PAL website begins in January.

Note: All 8u and 10u Heights Heat Travel players are strongly encouraged to also participate in Rec.

PAL Travel Softball

Eligibility

This is a competitive program where teams from Berkeley Heights will play All-Star teams from other surrounding towns in various leagues.

Girls from Berkeley Heights in grades 2-8 with softball experience are eligible.

Schedule

Regular season games will be half home/half away and may include weekend doubleheaders depending on age group. Leagues will run from early April through playoffs the weekend before Memorial Day, SCHEDULES WILL BE ISSUED upon league formations. Practices will be reserved by coaches based on field availability. Teams may also participate in a tournament if scheduling permits.

Final Schedules will be distributed once registration is complete, teams are established and the league is assigned.
