Players on the 2020-21 9u AA team will have a complete travel hockey experience. Our primary goal is to create a fun and competitive environment where every player can develop their skills and a passion for the game. Our programming this season is highly focused on player development so that each player is equipped with the skills necessary to advance and excel at the next level. Head Coach Jon Obstarczyk | 

A Buffalo native, Jon Obstarczyk grew up playing in the Buffalo Regals AAA program and went on to play High School hockey at Saint Francis High School in Athol Springs, NY.

Jon has eight years of coaching expereince with Perinton Youth Hockey, including the Beginner Program, Mites, Squirts and Pee Wee’s. He currently resides in Macedon with his wife Jennifer, daughter Madeleine (13) and sons Tommy (12) and Nick (8).

Jon is the owner of Father, Son & Associates Insurance Agency. He has offices in Buffalo and Fairport.

 

Season Forecast

 
Duration: August 1, 2020 - March 15, 2021
 

Practices:

  • Two shared practices per week
  • Two  full-ice practice per month
  • Two advanced skills development sessions per month by RIC Academy [watch video clip]
  • Two optional advanced skills development sessions per month by RIC Academy for 11u and 12u players. (no extra cost)
  • Monthly goaltender training sessions
  • Monthly off-ice training sessions at Next Level Strength & Conditioning [watch video clip]

* All practices, skills sessions and off-ice training sessions are included. No requirements for additional camps, clinics, or spring hockey.

Games:40-50 total

  • 25-30 independent schedule games 
  • 20 tournament games. Two local and two destination 

 

Events:

  • Rochester Americans and RIT hockey games
  • Preseason team party
  • End of season team party
  • Volunteer and community event
  • Fundraising opportunities

Composition of team:

  • 13-14 skaters
  • 1-2 goaltenders

Budget Estimate:

  • Dues: $1,300-$1,500 per player
  • Apparel and equipment not included
  • Tournaments and miscellaneous team expenses not included in dues (Approx. $400 per player)
  • Fundraising opportunites are available
