2019 Midwest Zone Olympic Development Zone Identification Tournament
October 4-6 at various local sites in the Northwest Suburbs of Chicago. SLAP has been particiipating in this event for over 10 years. This is a tournament hosted by ODP Coaches to observe/evaluate/recruit ideal athletes for the ODP program. There will be divisions for 14u Co-Ed, High School Boys, and High School Girls. National Team Coaches including Men's Team Olympic Coach Dejan Udovicic, ODP Technical Director Bryan Lynton and Olympian and National Goalie Director, Sean Nolan, will be in attendance and available to players for feedback and information. Additionally, athletes will get the chance to participate in a players clinic lead by ODP and National Team Coaches.

We have a room block that include 19 Standard Double rooms and 13 King Study’s. The King Study’s have a pull out sofa. In addition we have 9 King Suites which has a separate sleeping area with privacy doors, with a separate sitting area with a pull out sofa, and roll away can also be requested for the suites. The rate for the standard doubles, and King Study’s is $109.00 plus tax, and the King Suites are $119.00 plus tax. All guests will receive a complimentary hot breakfast buffet and wireless internet. $125 - This fee includes entry fee and coach fees. Players will need to arrange their own transportation to and from Chicago as well as in and around Chicago. Additionally, players will need to take care of their own lodging. For players whose parents / guardians can't attend, we can help find families who will drive the athletes.

USAWP Insurance: This is required for all athletes.
In order to play with SLAP. every player MUST be a member of USA Water Polo. This is separate from SLAP and SLAP fees. The level of membership depends on whether or not the athlete plans on playing additional tournaments throughout the season. The fees below include thre remainder of 2019 and all of 2020. See below for details.
- Gold ($120): "Elite" athlete membership; eligible for ALL USAWP athlete activity, including club practices, sanctioned events, National Championship Events (i.e. Junior Olympics) and all Olympic Development Program (ODP) participation including Zone Teams and ODP National Championships.
- Silver ($110): "Enhanced" athlete membership; eligible for club practices, local and regional sanctioned leagues and tournaments, and ODP Camps only (excluding Holiday Camp). Not eligible for participation in National Championship events (i.e. Junior Olympics, ODP Zone Team or Holiday Camp). Eligible to upgrade membership within current membership year only.
- Bronze ($55): "Basic" athlete membership; eligible for club practices, local/regional league play, SplashBall, ODP Camps, and some local sanctioned tournaments. Not eligible for participation in National Championship events (i.e Junior Olympics), ODP trainings (if the player makes the team) and the ODP Championships, and some sanctioned tournaments. Eligible to upgrade membership within current membership year only.
So, what does this mean? If the athlete just wants to play summer and in the summer league go Bronze. If they plan to travel with SLAP to any regional tournaments (Des Moines, Jose Cerda, Great Lakes Classic) and/or participate in an ODP Camp they should go Silver. If the athletes plans to participate in JO's and are actively trying out for a spot on an ODP team; then need register for the Gold level.
