Where are you from?

Born in American Samoa, and raised here in Auburn, WA.

What position do you like playing the most in volleyball?

I am an all-around player, but mostly I loved playing outside.

Why do you play volleyball?

Volleyball has always been a part of my family. It started from my grandparents, and then my parents. Out of my siblings, I am the only girl and I did not play until my 7th grade at Mt. Baker middle school. I would say I was a late bloomer, until I met this wonderful coach name Christine Leverenz. Who also inspired me to play volleyball. Also, I started playing volleyball because of my mom, she pushed me to my limits to pursue with volleyball because it opened up so many opportunities for me. Pursuing volleyball was the key to furthering my education, it paid for my books, tuition, and my room and board.

Who is one volleyball player (athlete) that you are inspired by and why?

Cassie Strickland, because she was very aggressive and determined. Even though she was put in different position, she went all out every time.

Why do you coach?

As an experienced player, everything that I learned and was taught through experiences, I want to give back and to show my experiences as a volleyball player. All the things that I was taught to me from my footwork, to basic skills. That Is why when I graduated high school, I came back every summer to coach for my high school summer leagues. To help those who are just learning the game and to help them get better. Also, it’s a way for me to stay close to the game I love.

What do you value most in your players?

I value commitment, determination, self-discipline and RESPECT.

What is your most embarrassing volleyball moment?

During club, I have no clue how it happened but during a rally I was backing up to make an approach to hit the ball, and my shoe just flew off, so instead of me throwing my shoe off the court, I grabbed it and just held on to it. Then, the next thing I knew, my setter decided to set me and I went up to hit the ball with my shoe in my left hand and got a kill. Everyone started laughing and my teammates were dying on the floor.
