Glastonbury Softball Association (GSA) operates Glastonbury’s community based summer and fall travel softball programs for players age 10 through age 16.  GSA seeks players who are willing to dedicate time and effort to improve individual and team skills and are interested in playing against competitive softball teams in the Hartford County area.

The major focus of GSA is to provide opportunities for Glastonbury softball players to improve their softball skills in a competitive travel softball environment. GSA strives to place each selected player on a team that will offer appropriate challenges and opportunities for success.

Summer Program:  The GSA Summer Program is a logical extension of the Glastonbury Little League (GLL) and Glastonbury High School spring seasons. Play starts in mid-June and ends in early August. GSA participates in the Northern Connecticut Girls Softball League (http://www.ncgsl.org/) and is open only to Glastonbury residents. GSA strives each summer to field three teams in the summer program: 12U, Middle School, and High School

Fall Program: The GSA fall program is for those players in grades 9-12 that want to play travel softball. GSA will participate in the Northern Connecticut fall league.  The fall travel softball season starts after Labor Day and finishes the end of October

All GSA teams are selected after competitive tryouts and consideration of previous playing experience. All players and parents should be aware that “cuts” may be necessary, depending on the quantity and quality of registered players and the number of teams fielded by GSA.  While “equal playing time rules” are not in effect, all players selected for GSA teams will have the opportunity to earn significant playing time over the course of a season.

For summer travel, games will be scheduled 2 nights per week and will include 1-2 practices. Fall travel will be games on Saturday mornings with 1-2 practices during weeknights.
