The state of Pennsylvania has implemented new law in the area of background checks. Starting in 2015, there are additional checks that EVERY coach, manager, trainer, and volunteer must go through if they will have any involvement with any of our youth teams. Please follow the steps in order below.
Notes: Follow the link below to get to the PA State website that performs the child abuse check. This is a thorough check and will take approximately two weeks to be returned. Please print out both your receipt and your certificate.
Submit the clearance certificates (or FBI check affidavit) that you obtained in the steps above to your soccer program Coordinator, or if there isn't one to the Director.
- Concussion (All NYAA soccer programs)
Notes: Follow the link below to get to the CDC website that walks you through the Heads Up concussion awareness course geared to youth sports. When completed please print out your certificate and give copy to the Director or Travel Coordinator. Do not forget to print the certificate as it is required in order to coach any NYAA youth sports team.
- EPYSA Risk Management (If playing in EPYSA league, i.e. Rec and Club)
Notes: Follow the link below to get to the EPYSA Website and submit your Risk Management Application. There are boxes that must be checked during your Risk Management application that state you gave your state mandated clearances to your club. For this reason it is extremely important that you do these steps in order.
