Who Can Play?
Gum Springs Youth Flag Football for Spring 2017 is open to boys and girls from ages 5 to 15. A child’s eligible age for the spring season is determined as of January 1st.

What are the Fees?
Every effort possible is made by GSYAA's Youth Flag Program to keep costs low, while maintaining excellence in youth sports.  The 2017 Spring Flag fees are as follows:

• First child: $50
• Second child: $30
• Additional child: $30 
• If Volunteering: $30 per child         

How do I register?
You can register at www.gsyaa.com or by clicking the “Register Now” button on the right side of the screen.

What equipment do I need to bring?
Only a mouth guard is required to participate in the practices and games.  Football cleats are encouraged, but not required.  Your registration fee includes a team jersey and a set of flags.
 
How do you keep the teams “even”?
We want the league to stay competitive and evenly matched so that all the players can enjoy the game of flag football.  Before the season starts we will hold an assessment that rates players with the goal of placing them on the most appropriate team. The kids will perform agility and speed drills that help establish their current athletic ability.

The dates for Spring 2017 Flag assessments will be announced soon.  All registered players must attend one of the assessment sessions in order to be placed on a team.
 
Where and when will we practice?
All games and practices will take place at Martin Luther King Jr., Park. Teams will practice for one hour per week, sometime between 6pm - 8pm on a weeknight.  The exact day and time will be provided by your child’s coach once teams are formed.
 
When do the games start?
The first regular season games will most likely take place in April.  Games continue through early June.

Do you need volunteers?
Gum Springs Youth Athletic Association is an all volunteer, non-profit organization.  We depend on community and parent volunteers to be coaches, assistant coaches, and referees.  If you would to volunteer as a coach or assistant coach please register at www.gsyaa.com.  If you would like to volunteer as a referee please contact gsyaapanthers@gmail.com.
