He has coached boys' lacrosse at JBHS since 2011 - winning District Championships in 2014 & 2016, as well as 2 District Runner-Ups in 2013 & 2015. Additionally, he was voted the District 23 Boys' Lacrosse Coach of the year in 2015-2016.
Coach Mahieu has former Jensen Beach High School lacrosse players who either played men's lacrosse at or are currently playing at Bryant University (RI), St. Leo University, University of Tampa, Rheinhardt University (GA), Rollins College, Florida Southern College, Wingate University (NC), Florida Institute of Technology, Lynn University, Palm Beach Atlantic University, Lenoir-Rhyne University (NC), Aquinas College (MI), Vassar College (NY), and Keiser University.
Additionally, Coach Mahieu coaches Live Action Travel Lacrosse, SMS Boys' Middle School Lacrosse, and FCA Treasure Coast Lacrosse. Coach Mahieu has also coached at Palm Beach Revolution, Stampede Lacrosse Club, and was the Director of Boys Coaching for MCPL where he volunteered for 8 years.
Originally from CT, Coach Mahieu played multiple sports as a youth including box lacrosse, ice hockey, soccer, golf and baseball. Coach Mahieu played college hockey in New Haven, CT, where he graduated with a B.S. in Finance. Coach Mahieu and his wife, Allison, have 2 children: a 20-year-old daughter who is a JBHS Falcon alum and currently attends the University of Florida as a Health Science major, and a 18-year-old son who is a Varsity lacrosse player for the JBHS Falcons and has recently committed to play D1 NAIA Men's Lacrosse at 3-time National Champion Reinhardt University in GA.
