Girls CT Junior Eagles Tryouts | Watertown Youth Hockey Association

My my My my

We are pleased to announce that WYHA’s CT Junior Eagles will once again be part of Connecticut Tier 1 Hockey.  Our unique approach to how we run our Tier 1 teams has been very well received.  There will be no major changes from our model that we have run over the last three years!  We will continue to focus on player development, player exposure, and be 100% in sync with the players High School teams.   We will remain “100% High School friendly” and focus on being highly competitive and getting the girls ready for their High School season!!   School AWLAYS comes first!!

Our season will begin with a Tournament in June

We will play in the Beantown Tournament in July

We will play in the Mid Fairfield Tournament in August

We will of course have our now famous overnight weekend in Shelton (Weekend in August TBD)

We will play the Ironbound / MFF Showcase over Labor Day Weekend in Northford

Then it's Sunday games / practices until Thanksgiving

We have not, and have no plans to attend any tournament that conflicts with School.  We focus on letting the students be students and allowing time for kids to be able to relax on weekends.  That is what make our model special and we will continue to operate that way

All practices will be professionally run by IPH Hockey and ProCrease Goaltending.  Remember our focus…………player development!!  Practices will normally take place on Sunday mornings from the start of school through mid-November when we don’t have games.  After that, we break for the girls High School seasons – depending on our success in Regionals we may pick up after

>>This year we may also be involved in the East Coast Wizards Holiday Invitational (U19's are set U16's still TBD) which takes place between XMas - New Years in MA<<

Fees will be set at $1450 (extra cost for Jersey/Socks if you need them approx. $150).  As stated, if our season goes beyond Regionals, we will add additional practices/games as we see fit and then divide up the additional cost.

For 2019/2020 our Eagles represent 12 different schools.  If anyone has any questions,  please don’t hesitate to reach out to me at

Thank You – Steve Silverman
