UMPIRE ADVOCATE….WHAT IS THAT?
Any umpire under the age of 18, who is assigned to umpire an EGGLL game (baseball or softball) MUST have an Umpire Advocate at that game. An umpire Advocate is not required to have any umpire knowledge or baseball knowledge. The umpire Advocate is present to make sure that the youth umpire is treated fairly and with respect by coaches and fans throughout the game. The Umpire Advocate is required to remain around the playing field, in the vicinity of the umpire for the entire game. Serving as an Umpire Advocate does count towards your volunteer requirement.
