Girls Lacrosse Club of Frisco is a non-profit, recreational program for girls in Kindergarten - 12th grades. Our teams play as the Frisco Fury and we focus on development of the team player including sportsmanship. Spring is our active season and fall is
Melanie is married to David McElroye and has two children, Ty and Nya. The McElroye family has been in Frisco since 2004. David is a REgional Sales Manager for Beckman Coulter. Ty is a senior at Reedy High School. He is a Drum Major for the award winning Reedy Lions High School Marching band, is a member of Best Buddies, Model UN, DECA, the National Honor Societ, and the National Technical Honor Society. Nya is a 9th grader at Reedy High School. Nya has been playing lacrosse since the 2nd grade here in Frisco and with Fury since its founding in 2015. She also plays on a local lacrosse club team and hopes to play basketball for the Reedy Lions 2021-2022 season.
Melanie is currently a full-time Special Education staff member at Hosp Elementary in Frisco. Prior to work at Hosp, Melanie was a substitute teacher with Frisco ISD for 2 years. She spent 19 years in the Social Work and Education fields. She holds an undergraduate degree in Social Work from the State University NY at Brockport, a Master of Social Work from Syracuse University, and a Master of Educational Leadership from St. John Fisher College. Youth sports has always been a passion for Melanie, coaching basketball and softball teams since her teen years. Her desire to promote positive and nurturing athletets let her to roles within Fury.
