EQUIPMENT AND SAFETY

Required Equipment: helmet, shoulder pads, arm pads, gloves, stick, cleats, cup, and mouthguard.  Boys cannot practice or play in games without their safety items. Mouth-guards must be worn during practices and games, and chinstraps must be buckled.  Always wear a helmet when on the field or sidelines, especially when behind the goal.

Goalie Equipment: Goalie Lacrosse Stick, Helmet, Mouth Guard, Gloves, Chest Pad, Neck Guard & Cup

Because boys like to take turns and try out the goalie position, the coach of each team will have a goalie stick, chest pad and neck guard for the boys to use.  However if your son is interested in the goalie position long term we recommend he get his own equipment that will fit him best, especially the stick.

Some parents ask if they can reuse hockey equipment for Lacrosse.  If your boy is just starting you could reuse the shoulder pads and maybe the arm pads.  For gloves we recommend getting Lacrosse gloves.  They are more flexible in the wrist (better for cradling) and have mesh palms for better ventilation.  Your son must have a Lacrosse helmet to play in games with other towns.  The referees will not let your son play with a hockey helmet
