Three Second Ground Balls




Begin with three lines at the top of the restraining box.


Play starts with the the first player in each line running to the top of the crease.  When they get there a GB is rolled out.  When the ground ball is rolled out the players break up with one calling for and scooping the ground ball.  That player then makes one pass, then that player makes another pass to a shot.  So each player gets a touch and the rep should only last three seconds.



  • This drill is a simple skill drill that teaches players ground ball skills, moving the ball off of the ground. 
  • Sticks to the outside
  • Proper positioning to get open for a quality shot
  • Communication


Variations:  Run the drill from different places on the field.
