Votes Proposed:

  • Adopt Minutes of Meeting from the NVWF Fall September 2019 Board of Directors Meeting
    • NVWF is required to produce minutes of meetings in accordance with Virginia state law and the Internal Revenue Service. Minutes are often reviewed by county parks and recreation offices similarly.
    • The meeting minutes and enclosures are posted on the NVWF website for club managers to review, comment, and adopt.
  • Vote to adopt NOVA Sports & Activities as a new club member
    • The club will be based in the lower Loudoun County area. Bill Marck is the registered president.
    • The club is currently a sanctioned insured club by USA Wrestling as an affiliate with NVWF.
    • The club is proposed as an extension of NVWF requesting that revenues and expenses be recorded as part of NVWF in order to receive approval by Loudoun County Parks and Recreation for facility space operations.
  • Vote to fill the NVWF executive officer position with Bill Marck. The position was unoccupied since September 2019 as stated in the minutes of meeting and subsequently identified by Shannon Jackson.
  • Vote to adopt a baseline schedule comprised of regular season event weekends plus and end-of-season finals at the end of February utilizing one or two sites each weekend in order to provide competition opportunities for everyone registered in the NVWF as always done. One large site would be selected when there was a lack of available host clubs as done last year.
  • Vote to incorporate the use of adult referees at youth tournaments at select tournaments in lieu of kid referees or as part of a mentor-protégé program where they provide oversight of high school kid referees, commensurate with available funds.
  • Vote on whether or not to add roughly $7,500 to the purchase of mats for the purpose of adding “tapeless” features such as the Resilite Resi-Lock (zip-lock) or Dollamur Flex-Connect (Velcro).  Tapeless features would only be applicable on custom youth mats.
  • Vote on whether or not to purchase Resilite, Dollamur, or Tiffin mats.
  • Vote to adjust club host fees to $200 when adult referees are hired in lieu of high school kid referees. Currently it is set at $750.
  • Vote to adjust club host fees to $600 when adult referees are hired as oversight under the mentor-protégé approach to provide guidance at youth tournaments.  Currently it is set at $750.
  • Vote to adjust the NVWF registration fee increase to a maximum of an additional $40 per registrant which would include costs for adult referees as part of the mentor-protege program, annual operating costs, plus a small amount for strategic planning/investments.
  • Vote on whether or not one of the regular tournament weekends should be converted into “county championships”.
  • Vote on whether or not one of the regular tournament weekends should be converted into a northern VA-wide championship open tournament.
  • Vote on whether or not one or more of the December regular tournaments should be open to outsiders to increase diversity of wrestling opponents.
