COVID-19 UPDATE AND LEAGUE IMPACT UPDATES:

Mt. Zion Youth Sports takes the health and safety of our youth participants, coaches, family and fans seriously.  On Friday (3/13/20), Mt. Zion’s Superintendent, Dr. Travis Roundcount sent the following to all students in the Mt. Zion school system:

"Schools in the State of Illinois have been cancelled through March 30th, 2020.  With the exception of buses to and from school after March 30th, we are also suspending all district related travel for staff and students, including travel for extracurricular competitions, activities, and field trips through Sunday, April 5th, 2020.

Furthermore, effective 9:00pm tonight, we are cancelling all activities hosted on Mt. Zion School grounds including extra-curricular activities, and any ceremonies/special activities including concerts, school play, orientation, NHS Induction, etc. through Sunday, April 5th, 2020. We will make every attempt to reschedule cancelled events if possible.  Any practices/rehearsals/BASAP are also cancelled, but may potentially resume after March 30th.

Additional cleaning will take place over the spring break and the Administration will provide updates to staff and parents as needed during this national emergency. Thank you."

In an effort to protect our community, as an organization, we will follow the school district’s lead and suspend all practices, games, scrimmages and related sports gatherings.  This policy begins immediately and will remain in place until further notice.  There are no exceptions to this ban and any coach operating under the Mt. Zion Youth Sports’ umbrella is expected to comply with it.  We understand that this will inconvenience those of you coaching teams preparing for the spring/summer season.  That fact notwithstanding, the risks to your players and our community weigh in favor of the suspension of these activities.  If you have any questions or concerns about this policy, please feel free to contact Dicky Trump at and/or Chris Ellis at .

We thank you for your cooperation,

Board of Directors
