After falling to Nottingham 12-2 in the first championship game, West Windsor bounced back the next night and won the winner-take-all contest, 10-1 to capture the District 12 title. West Windsor pitcher Jason Carroll got the job done on the mound tossing a complete game and the offense came through with 10 runs which was more than enough. Caleb Kasof and Jonah Levy lead the team at the dish with 2 hits apiece while Luis Saldivia and Grant Vinson both drove in 2 runs.

West Windsor 5 - Nottingham 4
The WW 12s captured the District 12 banner with a heart pounding 5-4 victory over Nottingham. The 12s got on the board in the top of the first when with a two run HR to left by Drew Panson. Nottingham answered in their half of the first as they strung together some walks and a timely hit to take a 3-2 lead. WW went back on top in the second when CJ Markisz had an infield hit and then moved to third on a long single to right center by Justin O’Leary. Brian Tso walked to load the bases and then Kyle Siegler hit a sac fly to score Markisz and then Thomas Marsh, pinch running for O’Leary, scored on a wild pitch allowing WW to take a 4-3 lead.
Nottingham tied the game at 4-4 in the fourth and remained tied until the sixth inning when Goerge Revock and Patrick Tso singled to the outfield and were followed by an infield single by Markisz to load the bases. O’Leary then walked to force in the go ahead run to make it 5-4.
Patrick Tso relieved Michael Radey in the second and pitched 2-2/3 innings of scoreless relief. Revock came on in the fifth and pitched 1-1/3 innings without giving up a run to pick up the win and was followed by Murphy who recorded the final two outs for the save.

West Windsor 7 - Robbinsville 6
In as bizarre an ending as you will ever find in a Championship game, Blake Brown raced home from third base with the winning run as Robbinsville was executing an appeal play at second base to give West Windsor a heart-stomping 7-6 victory and the District 12 10-year old Championship banner at a packed Assist America Field.
West Windsor trailed, 6-5, heading into the home sixth inning, when Brian Murphy led off with a walk. Brown’s bunt attempt was fielded by the Robbinsville pitcher, but the throw to second base to get Murphy was too high. Dylan Welch sacrificed the two runners to second and third and Robbinsville elected to intentionally walk David Philbin to load the bases with one out.
Ryan Strype then sent the first pitch high into right field. Murphy was able to race back to tag up from third and score on the sacrifice fly. Brown also moved to third base on the throw home. Robbinsville appealed that Murphy had left too soon and was denied. They then figured they could try the same appeal at second base, but forgot that the ball is considered “in play” during these appeals. Brown needed no reminder and took off from third base on the Robbinsville pitcher’s toss to second. Robbinsville had no chance on the return throw home to catch Brown, who was mobbed by his jubilant teammates.

West Windsor 4 - Nottingham 3
Having missed the Final eight in 2004, West Windsor made sure they were represented in 2006 when the league again hosted the Finals of the District 12 tournament. Coming out of the winner’s bracket with an undefeated record, West Windsor lost to perennial District contender Nottingham. Nottingham overcame an early 6-0 deficit to tie the game and then scored five more runs on home runs by Sam Hawkes and Vince Migliori. In a winner take all Championship game the following night, West Windsor with a stellar pitching performance by Ryan Siegler and clutch hitting by Adam Charnin-Aker and Ben Ruta captured their first district banner since 1991.

The West Windsor boys captured the district crown behind its two great pitchers-Kevin Barry and Dan Kauffman-after losing to Chambersburg in the winner’s bracket final. In the first game, Barry fired a complete game with 11 strikeouts and belted two homers. In game two, Kauffman tossed a two-hitter

West Windsor rallied for its first district crown as Dan Sexton’s home run tied the game and Ed Froehlich drove in the next run. Dale Huang limited Nottingham to three hits.
