What is the mission of the Warrenton Youth Soccer Club? The founders of WYSC created the league as a place where children of all ages and abilities could learn about sports while having fun. The emphasis is on learning, teamwork and sportsmanship.

WYSC’s Covid Policy

The safety of our players, families, and community is our top priority for WYSC. To help keep everyone safe WYSC has expanded our Covid Policy.

Anyone who is sick or has possibly been in contact with anyone who has, or might have, Covid is not allowed to attend any practices or games. If a player has tested positive for Covid, WYSC must be informed immediately. In addition, the player will not be allowed to return to practice or games until WYSC is provided with a note from a doctor stating they are clear of Covid.

Practices requirements for all programs:

  • Before each practice starts, Coach will ask players the following questions:

    • Have you been running a fever of 100.4 or higher?

    • Are you experiencing shortness of breath, cough, chills, headache, sore throat, loss of taste/smell, and muscle pains?

    • Are you ill, or have you been ill over the last 14 days?

    • Have you been in contact with anyone who has had Covid-19 over the past 14 days?

  • Players are expected to use hand sanitizer before they enter the field/courts and when they leave.

  • Only players are allowed on the fields/courts. Parents can watch from outside the courts or along the outside of the fields. If parents decide to stay and watch practice, they will have to stand 10 feet apart. The soccer fields have been marked with large X’s to help with this requirement.

  • Any spectator who is staying on the fields or around the courts will be required to wear a mask. Anyone waiting in a car or walking the complex on the walking paths is not required to wear a mask.

  • Players are required to place personal items on the different X’s around the field/courts.

  • Players are not allowed to share water bottles.

Recreational Soccer and Volleyball Game Day requirements:

  • All spectators must wear a mask when entering and exiting, and while watching games.

  • All spectators must sit 10 feet apart. WYSC has marked the soccer fields with large white X’s and the volleyball courts with purple X’s that are the appropriate distance apart.

  • Soccer teams are required to sit on opposite sides of the fields.

  • Players must keep personal items with parents on the sidelines.

  • Players are not allowed to shake hands with other players, coaches, and referees.

  • End of game tunnels are not allowed this season.

  • Teams may not enter the field until the entire field is empty from the previous game.

  • Families are required to take all trash they have brought to the complex.

Travel and SFL Game Day Guidelines:

Pre-travel guidelines:

  • Before attending games, each player should check his or her temperature at home, and refrain from participation if he or she has a fever of 100.4 or higher.  They should also review the following pre-session screening questions before attending a game:

    • Have you had a documented case of Covid-19 in the last 14 days?

    • Have you had any close contact with a sick individual or anyone with a confirmed, or suspected, case of Covid-19?

    • Are you currently feeling sick, or having or suffering from any Covid-19 symptoms?

    • If a player answers “yes” to any question or exhibits COVID-19 symptoms, he/she will not be permitted to play.

  • Team officials must communicate with one another at least 48 hours before games.

  • Goalkeepers must sanitize/wash their gloves before arriving at the match.

  • All coaches and players must use only their own water bottles.

  • Parents must not allow their children to play if they are uncomfortable with or refuse to follow league or game day procedures.

Facility and Arrival Guidelines:

  • Arriving team officials are responsible for making sure their team does not enter the field area until participants of previous games have exited.

  • Each club must have a clear entry/exit plan for each facility, which must be communicated to the visiting team – (WYSC will have this in place prior to the first game.)

  • All participants (Coaches/players/referees/spectators) must wear masks while entering and leaving the facility.

  • Clubs are authorized to require additional facility requirements, which must be communicated at least 48 hours before the game.

  • The home club remains responsible for providing game balls, which must be sanitized before providing to the referee for play.

Match Guidelines:

  • Coaches and players on the sidelines must wear a mask and maintain social distance.

  • Players are allowed to use the space along the sideline in order to maintain social distance.

  • In the event of injury, team staff may access injured individuals in accordance with the first aid management while wearing a mask. Family members may assist as necessary. All others must maintain at least 10 feet social distance.

 Post Match:

  • Teams must exit the field area quickly to allow for the arriving teams to enter the facility.

  • No post-match line-ups and high fives.  Instead, it is a general “thumbs up” and “good game” between players and staff is recommended.

  • Both teams must clear the sideline area of any trash before exiting the field.

  • Clubs should report matches in which protocols are not followed to the NCSL Rules & Discipline Dept.

  • Club coaches are responsible for making sure their teams efficiently exit the field.
