Return To Play

Stage 1

(Getting Active Again)

RETURN TO PLAY IS 100% VOLUNTARY FOR ALL

Stage 1 Activity & Coaching Guidelines

Youth lacrosse activities should be focused on transitioning children back into physical activity through organized small-group practices and training exclusively, and not competition.  Research has shown that introduction to full competition activity after a long span of deconditioning increases risk for significant musculoskeletal injury.  Every effort will be made to have a gradual return to activity starting with drills and conditioning. At this time, US Lacrosse has found no current medical evidence that would suggest that a return to play that includes full-field, full-roster sized teams, competing in full length games or tournaments could occur without significant risk to participants.

  • All Club, Parent/Spectator, and Player/Coach/Designated Adults Guidelines are to  be followed.
  • Coach:Player Ratio = 1:10
  • During practices, coaches are to create games and activities that follow social distancing strategies.
  • Stay at least 6 feet away from non-household members.
  • No huddles; no pre-or post-activity in-person meetings.
  • No handshakes, high-fives, fist-bumps or skin-to-skin contact.
  • Coaches to designate a space for each player to place their belongings and water that is no less than 6 feet away from the next player.  All player belongings and water will stay in this space until exiting the field.
  • Avoid contact drills or any drills that require standing in line within 6 feet of each other.
  • Training sessions or practices during this period will focus on skill concepts: passing and catching, ground balls, shooting, clearing with a gradual return to activity.

* Stuart Lacrosse will be in Stage 1 upon our reopening *

Return To Play

Stage 2

(5v5 In-House Games)

RETURN TO PLAY IS 100% VOLUNTARY FOR ALL

Stage 2 Activity & Coaching Guidelines

Once appropriate fitness levels are attained, and progression to Stage 2 has been approved by the Stuart Lacrosse Board of Directors, this stage allows for increasing intensity and competitiveness in small-sided in-house games.  This is to better maintain social distancing requirements.

  • No huddles; no pre-or post-activity in-person meetings.
