2022 - MINORS General Information
Who can play?
Minors division is for girls and boys who are 9 to 10 years old as of May 1, 2022.
Registration fee - $125
($10 sibling discount registered in Cal Ripken division)
Important Season Dates
Pre Season practice - Saturday, March 19
(Distribute uniform & meet coaches and teammates)
Opening Day of games - Saturday, March 26
Closing Day - Saturday, June 11
No games - April 16 & May 28
When are games?
(the game times depends on how many teams are in the division)
9:00 to 11:00am or 11:00 to 1:00pm
Thursday (Rainout make up day)
6:00 to 7:30pm
Where are the games?
Welsh Valley Middle School, Tower Lane, Narberth
Two fields (Field with dugouts and Softball field)
Monday or Thursday - 6:00 to 7:30pm
(It will be a set day for the season - depends on volunteer coaches availability)
Welsh Valley MS or Narberth Park (it will be one set location from the start of the season)
What do you do in practice?
Coaches develop and reinforce the major baseball fundamentals, and begin teaching team plays. Fundamental include proper throwing mechanics, batting stance and hitting fundamentals, fielding skills, above-the-waist catching, and base running.
We emphasize having fun together as a team, learning positive sportsmanship, and developing players’ confidence in their athletic abilities.
How do games work?
The Minors Division is kid pitch. The Minors division abides by the Cal Ripken rules.

What do players need?
A baseball glove & water bottle. Players should wear baseball pants. Do not wear shorts - players in this division are taught to slide into the base. We recommend players wear baseball cleats, but sneakers are acceptable. The team shirt, hat, pants, belt & socks are distributed at the first team practice. Players are welcome to bring their own baseball bats, batting gloves and helmets.
What about drop-offs?
At this age group, each player must have a parent (or responsible adult) present for the duration of the practice and game.
Your child's registration fee will be discounted if you coach.
If you would like to volunteer to coach a team, please enter the information requested in your child's registration. We will contact you via email to let you know if you will be coaching a team on March 1st. For each division, we are looking for 2 to 3 co-coaches for each team.
We require all coaches to attend a mandatory coaches meeting. We require the 3 background checks which are listed under "Coaches Information" on the left side of home page.
