2015 Hall of Fame Inductees

SHERM PRUIT

CU Football C/OG
1956, 57, 58
Columbine Football Hall of Fame 1st Inductee
Columbine's First Football Coach
1973-1986
He was a member of the Columbine High School staff from the first year. He taught physical education and was the football coach. He was responsible for many of the fine traditions that are still in place today and he impacted many lives. Sherm’s wife Donna worked at CHS in the counseling department and his children Brett (75) , daughter Sherry (78) and Dallas (81) graduated from Columbine. His daughter-in-law Debbie Pruit (current CHS Math Teacher) also graduated from Columbine as well as many of his grandchildren.
Coach Pruit started the tradition of Rebel Ball. He made a difference in so many lives. He gave me a chance as a young coach back in 1981, I was his defensive coordinator and he was a great mentor. The life lessons I learned from him helped me throughout my life. Recently I had the opportunity to spend some time with him. He was so proud to be a Rebel! He had nothing but fond memories. Coach Pruit you will be missed but not forgotten. Thoughts and prayers to the Pruit Family. God Bless and love to all
Mr. De
He ran a great program and set the foundation for a lot of young men.
The Grand-daddy of Rebelball
Memorial service. To be held on Sat January 24th, at 10:00am
Columbine Baptist Church, 5660 Coal Mine Ave,
Please keep the Pruit family in your thoughts and Prayers.
"Once a Rebel, Always a Rebel" RIP Coach Pruit. God Bless.
