Each year Pembroke Youth Basketball (“PYB”) fields travel (select) teams.  There are teams for grades 3 through 8 for both boys and girls.  PYB’s goal is to have two teams at each grade level, but there is no guarantee of this.  The ability to have two teams depends on the number of children who tryout and coaching.  Please note that we may need to combine 3^rd and 4^th graders, if the numbers are low in these grades (historically we have had enough 3^rd grade boys to field one 3^rd grade travel team, but we have had to combine these grades on the girls side).     

Tryouts are scheduled for mid-October at the Pembroke school gyms (see specific dates, times & locations for each grade in the chart below).  There are two tryouts for each team, and we encourage the kids to attend both tryouts.  Players must pre-register for tryouts or they will not be eligible to attend the tryout.  There is no cost to pre-register and attend a travel team tryout, but everyone will be required to sign a waiver as part of the pre-registration process.

If your child cannot attend at least one of the tryouts, then please complete the pre-registration process and send an email to the Pembroke Youth Basketball Co-Presidents ( ), prior to the tryout.  As long as these steps are completed prior to the tryout, then your child will be included in the evaluation process and will be considered for a travel team.

PYB and the youth travel leagues are moving forward with the intention of having a “normal” winter season.  However, the youth travel leagues are still in the planning stages and have not yet communicated league costs and certain details for the season.  As such, PYB has not yet established the travel fee for the 2021 / 2022 season; we expect the travel fee to be approximately $310 per player (similar to the 2019 / 2020 season).

Roster Announcements:  all teams will be announced by Sunday evening, October 31^st.  Team rosters will be posted on the web-site (www.pembrokebasketball.net).  Team practices will begin in early November.
