Umpires Needed for 2020 Season
by posted 01/19/2020

HLL just filled the Umpire in Chief position for the 2020 season.  Paul Atkinson has been approved as the Umpire in Chief. Paul will run recruiting, training, scheduling, and the oversight of the umpire program for the 2020 season. Thank you Paul for agreeing to take on this critical role.

Paul comes with nearly twenty years of umpire experience with baseball and softball. He has experience with other little leagues in the local district which will be invaluable as we continue to grow our program.  It was important to the board that we continue to support providing this program to our young umpires and therefore we are excited that Paul is going to help us continue to offer this program to your HLL community.

We did lose some time this year as we were looking for the new umpire and Chiefs so we have a lot to do in a short amount of time.  The first thing that we need to do is secure a pool of umpires for the upcoming season. If you are interested in participating in the umpire program at Huguenot Little League please go to our website and fill out the umpire registration.  You can contact Paul at using at and let Paul Atkinson know that you are interested.

To set expectations for the umpires a training program will be held on Sundays from 3:00 to 5:00 for each of the weekends in February.  The training location will be at the Walton Park Recreation Center and training is required of umpires to prepare for the 2020 season. During the sessions we will spend time to address the expectations for the umpire crew for the upcoming season.  We look forward to hearing from those that are interested! All umpires must sign up as umpire on our website and must complete a Little League background check.

HLL Equipment Buying Guide
by posted 12/18/2019

Whether you are new to the sport or one of our many growing players it is not always easy to determine how to properly equip your player.  Understanding what is important and at what age can help you save money and provide appropriate equipment for your player.  We believe that having the right equipment in terms of glove size and bat length and weight are important to helping our players develop good baseball and softball mechanics.
