Our organization promotes the game of lacrosse, sportsmanship and teamwork. We welcome players of all abilities. Our goal is to teach the skills, along with training so they have an understanding of the game and develop a life long love for lacrosse!
Our mission is to teach, grow and honor the game of lacrosse throughout Massachusetts by providing leadership, guidance, training and structure to all town programs interested in participating in the MBYLL's eight game spring schedule and the annual MBYLL Jamboree held each June at the end of our season.
Mass Bay Girls Lacrosse League (MBGLL) is a recreation program located in Eastern Massachusetts. We organize and operate a program for more than 6,000 young girls' lacrosse players. In 2010-2011 we had 81 different towns represented with 331 teams in 1st through 8th grade. One of the original six teams of Major League Lacrosse (MLL), the Boston Cannons were founded in 2001 by owner and president Matt Dwyer. Home Field is the historic Harvard Stadium.
The MLL is comprised of six teams across the US and Canada. The 230 best lacrosse players in the world-well-spoken, articulate young men from some of the top academic institutions. The 2011 Major League Lacrosse season consists of a total of 36 regular season games running from May to August with the following league-run special events – Major League Lacrosse Collegiate Draft (January), All-Star Game (July), and Major League Lacrosse Championship Weekend (August).
