Hello CFHC Bears Families!
This wasn’t the beginning we imagined as hockey directors, but to say we are excited to start the season is an understatement. Coach Stoan and I will be sending out periodic emails to reach out to all of our Bears’ family to inform you of new developments within the club, some fun training ideas and how we can prepare for the upcoming fall season.
First off, we care about the health and safety of you and your families and hope everyone is doing well. We understand the situation of many families. We are small business owners and we are juggling our 6-year-old and 4-year-old children at home with their schooling. Right now, hockey might be something lost in your world with the current concerns of everyday living, but we believe that talking hockey might bring a sense of normality back to all our lives.
The mandatory closing of the RDV has put a dent in the Bears’ spring training plans. With the RDV being closed until further notice, we are sad to announced that the Bears’ Spring Training program will be completely canceled at this time. We will be looking for opportunities to get everyone back on the ice as soon as we are informed that the RDV is back open and ready for business. We will also be looking to schedule our fall try-out times as soon as we get a better grasp on the RDV opening date.
Since we are stuck sitting and waiting, we encourage the kids to train at home. We will be sharing some great dryland/off-ice training literature and videos will be beneficial to your hockey player(s). Training at home and alone can be tough at times, but off-ice training is a huge component if your hockey player really wants to excel in the game of hockey.
Please feel free to personally reach out to us with any questions regarding the training provided. Our goal as a club is to come back on the ice quicker, faster and stronger.
Have fun and stay healthy!
Coach Stoan and Coach Sondra Pacey
